MICHELTORENA RESIDENCE

This is a full remodel/addition to a home built in 1928 in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Los Feliz. The clients purchased the home because of the charming exterior and large lot overlooking the Hollywood sign. The interior had mostly been removed in a previous remodel, so we set out to reconfigure the home and add back the 1920’s detailing. A new center hall entry allows easy access to both the public and private spaces. This connects to the living room, with a new vaulted ceiling and oak beams. This stained oak follows into the kitchen and bathrooms, which are all new. The home sits on a downslope lot and had what was an empty full-height crawlspace. We turned this unused space into 1,000 square feet of new living space, including a new family room and guest suite. The family room opens to a new flat backyard, complete with a pool and spa, sundeck, large lawn, and firepit.
