Rock View

This is the full remodel of an Eagle Rock home built in 1938. The clients and their two daughters loved the home’s character, but the husband, a professional chef, was not happy with the tiny galley kitchen on the main level. The house sits on a hillside, so our first presentation included a bold idea- moving the kitchen to the large and unused walk-out basement. The finished home includes a huge new basement kitchen and dining room, connected to the first floor by a new and larger stairway leading to the upper living room. The former kitchen and adjacent den became a new primary suite, so that all of the bedrooms are now on the upper level. The kitchen features soapstone countertops and a 60″ Lacanche range for the chef.
