This is the remodel/ addition of a 1940’s home in Los Angeles. The existing home had a beautiful front elevation, but the interior was a series of dark, choppy spaces with small windows. My clients bought the home for the large, private backyard and pool, and wanted easy access to the exterior from any room.
Telescoping French doors were added in each major space, as well as a new outdoor pergola for shade. The new addition houses the dining room, kitchen, guest bedroom, pool bath, and a new second story studio. The front elevation remains intact, with new windows, doors, shutters, and roof.
